Hi, I’m Emanuel, from Bucharest, Romania.

By day, I deliver food on my scooter. By night, I work on the plans for a wooden sailboat a Gentleman Cutter, built with my own hands, plank by plank.

My dream isn’t just to reach the sea.

It’s to prove that in Romania, real boats can still be built with craftsmanship, patience, and soul.

I graduated from the Mircea cel Bătrân Naval Academy as a marine engineer, and a few years ago, I built my first small boat, “Barca lui Ion” — the boat that taught me that wood, salt, and dreams can last a lifetime.

Now, I’m starting something bigger:

a full-size 43 foot traditional sailboat, handcrafted in Romania, using old techniques and modern dedication.

Every screw, every piece of wood, and every video I film is part of something greater a story about bringing back a lost craft and inspiring others to believe that handmade dreams still float. ⚓

This GoFundMe will help me cover the cost of materials, tools, and equipment to document the build for everyone following the project online.
