Help Amy Build Magic for Dallas CASA Kids
I’ve had the privilege of watching my friend Amy spend the last 18 years pouring her heart—and often her own money—into something truly special: building beautiful, whimsical playhouses for children through the Dallas CASA Parade of Playhouses.
Celebrating its 30th year, this annual event supports Dallas CASA, an organization that helps children who’ve experienced abuse or neglect. Extraordinary playhouses designed and built by generous volunteers will be on display June 13-29 at NorthPark Center. People can buy tickets for a chance to win one, with all proceeds supporting Dallas CASA’s mission of advocating for vulnerable kids.
Amy and her brother, Reed (a framing contractor she roped into this years ago!), are building their 16th playhouse this year. This massive labor of love requires weeks of planning, designing, building—and a lot of materials. In the early days, sponsors helped cover costs. But for the past several years, Amy has quietly paid for the materials herself, never wanting to miss a year.
I’ve seen firsthand the dedication, long hours, and real love she puts into every detail of these playhouses. They aren’t just fun structures—they’re symbols of care, generosity, and hope for the kids Dallas CASA serves.
This year, I’d love to ease the financial burden on Amy by raising funds to cover the cost of materials. Every dollar you give goes directly toward building the playhouse—and if we raise more than we need, it will be saved for next year’s build.
If you’ve ever wanted to support a good cause and be part of something joyful and meaningful, this is it.
Thank you so much for helping us make some magic for these kids.
