Biking 55 Miles for Mal's Pal's and Best Buddies

On June 4th I will be participating in the Best Buddies Challenge to support our good family friend Mallory Bickerton & the Mal's Pals Foundation.  Mal was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called, Rubinstein Taybi Syndrome, or RTS.  She was a classmate of my son Max at the Henderson Inclusion School in Dorchester and over the last 4 years these two have been side by side conquering challenges developmetally and intellectully.  I feel so blessed to have met Mal and her family.  It's been a honor to watch her grow and it's a privelige to help riase money for her foundation.  

Mal’s Pals Foundation strives to not only raise awareness about rare disease, but to encourage inclusion. Mal’s Pals Foundation believes, that it is in a most inclusive world, that we all become better people. It is not only beneficial to those with unique abilities, but it is of priceless value for anyone to learn and grow in an environment that is both inclusive and accomodating of all people. 

The Best Buddies Challenge incluces a bike ride from Boston to Hyannis Port.  This event supports  Best Buddies programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 

Best Buddies International is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of people with IDD. Their programs help people with IDD form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
