Hello everyone! We are the Berkeley Police Association and we are back asking you for your support and donations for our annual "Turkey Basket" event for the Thanksgiving holiday.

If you're unfamiliar with the event, the BPA and an army of volunteers provide a complete Thanksgiving meal for families in need throughout Berkeley. These families are identified by various organizations that assist the underserved and needing members of our community.

These meals include a whole turkey, sides, bread rolls, and a dessert. They are assembled by numerous volunteers the day before Thanksgiving. Once assembled, these baskets are delivered to the organizations for distribution. Last year was an exciting turnout of volunteers! On top of our usual BPA leaders, families, and friends, we also received assistance from Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii, City Manager Paul Buddenhagen, Berkeley Police Chief Jen Louis, along with City Council Members Bartlett and Tregub!

Last year, thanks to the support of Gofundme donations, community stakeholders, and donations from the BPA, we again broke our record by delivering 1100 meals!

With the recent developments of the government shutdown, the BPA is already fielding significant requests for turkey baskets. We anticipate the need to be greater than ever and with your support, we hope to break the record yet again!

In our years of organizing the event, we have never had to say no to a community group that has asked for assistance in providing Thanksgiving meals. The tremendous success of the event is only made possible by donations from you, support from the community, and our continuing strong partnerships with other organizations. The organizations we partner with are The Fourth St Business District, EP Wealth Advisors, Our City Center Church, Oakland Grocery Outlet, Pacific Agri, Argonaut Garage, NuVision Credit Union, the Multicultural Institute, the Berkeley Police Department, and many more.

Please consider donating to the event. There are a great deal of families in need and our goal is to once again have everyone enjoy a great Thanksgiving holiday!
