Aidan Goes to Hollywood (to Fight Breast Cancer)!

My name is Aidan Leroy and I have decided to do a hike for breast cancer as my Mitzvah Project. My own Mother recently suffered from this disease and I want to make sure less people have to feel the kind of pain that she and my family endured during her fight against breast cancer.

All proceeds from this 4.5 mile hike to the Hollywood sign and the Griffith observatory and back will be donated to a foundation called Sharsheret. Sharsheret fights against breast and ovarian cancer and specializes in the variants most common in the Jewish community like the BRCA-positive cancer my Mother experienced. Sharsheret provides financial, treatment, psychological and peer support predominantly aimed towards the Jewish community and is founded and run by a group of Jewish women that lived through their own cancer experiences.

We are hoping that between 10 and 30 of our friends and family will participate in the hike, and that we will raise up to $10,000 for this cause. We're hoping it will be a fun way for our community to give back to people suffering from cancer and hope you'll support us either on the hike or via donations!
