Sharsheret

For Sophie’s bat mitzvah project, she is trying to raise money for Sharsheret. Sophie’s great aunt, Susie, is currently suffering from ovarian cancer. Sophie would like to raise money for an organization who helps support women diagnosed with cancer. Sophie also donated her hair this summer to help make a wig for those who suffer from hair loss from cancer. Please donate in honor of Sophie’s bat mitzvah. Thank you.

One in eight women are or become victims of Breast Cancer. The brothers of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity are raising money to support those victims and their family.  All proceeds raised will be donated to Sharsheret,  a Jewish breast cancer organization that helps women and their families face the battle against breast cancer.

Hi guys my name is Chris Hamian and I'm going to be representing Pi Kappa Alpha in this year's Greek God Bodybuilding Competition, hosted by Alpha Epsilon Phi at Binghamton University.


ABOUT
Not a bodybuilder, I just love fitness and training. I've been preparing for this competition for months now, but fitness has been a huge part of my life for the past few years. I started working out in high school, but it was never anything too serious until I discovered the flip side of that coin which was diet. For about a year now I've been following a balanced diet and fitness plan and its really changed my life. The combination of the two has helped me feel better, look better, and made me mentally and physically stronger.  Now, I strive to continue that progress every single day.

CHARITIES
The charities I will be raising money for are the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and Sharsheret. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation is a non profit that is dedicated to the prevention of HIV and the elimination of pediatric AIDS.  Sharsheret is dedicated to helping women with breast cancer and their families.   I believe both of these charities promote excellent causes, and I'm excited to see my commitment to fitness inspire others to support these two foundations.


CLOSING
At the end of the day, we're all here to help raise money for two incredible charities. A lot of people (both contestants and Alpha Epsilon Phi) worked really hard to put this together so please come out and support the event!

Ribbons on the Runway is the Emerson College Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi's largest charity event. 2013 marks our 10th annual year holding the fashion show and silent auction. All proceeds from our event go toward our national philanthropy, Sharsheret, which benefits Jewish women and their families affected by breast cancer.
