A Call to Arms: Support SSG Kevin Andrade's Illness
Donation protected
The Andrade family is going through a very trying time and needs our help. Kevin Andrade, a husband and father of 4 children, a 16-year veteran and current Staff Sargeant in the CT Army National Guard 143rd MP company, current Correction Officer at Corrigan CC, member of the Freemasons, and long-term resident of Sterling, CT, is extremely sick. Kevin has been hospitalized since February 11 with the flu, septic MRSA and subsequent pneumonia. Things took a turn for the worse on February 21, when Kevin went into respiratory failure. He was intubated and sedated and moved to the ICU. He is very dependent on the ventilator, and we cannot overstate how severe his pneumonia is. The doctors are unsure of his prognosis at this time, and the family is taking things day by day.
His wife, Lauren, who is a Correctional Counselor at Brooklyn CI, needs our help so that she can take some unpaid time off of work to care for Kevin and the children when her PTO runs out soon. We are also hoping to offset some of the Andrade family's medical, daycare, and other bills.
We cannot thank you enough for your thoughts and prayers during this time. Lauren and Kevin's family are putting all their trust in God and his plans. If you are not able to contribute at this time, it would be a massive help if you can spread the word and share the link for this fundraiser, which you can find at the top of this page on the yellow "share" button. We appreciate all the love and support. Thank you! <3
