Update 10.2025 (Deutsch Version unten)
Dear friends of RESET!
It's that time again - we need your support! ❤️
We would like to share with you what needs to be done to save the historic venue at Wiener Straße 34.
A lot is being demanded of us. Many of the shortcomings of the past decades - especially in sound insulation, as well as fire protection and ventilation technology, have now been placed on our shoulders. We are currently working hard to address and improve the areas that were overlooked in previous years. Times have changed, and that’s why we are now making every effort to meet all the official requirements.
Much has already been done, but the work is not yet finished!
What are we currently working on?
We…
- Equip ceilings and walls with new insulation to optimize sound insulation
- Improve the impact sound of the floor and in the stage area
- Replace and renew outdated electrical systems
- Revise and improve the fire protection concept
- Renew the ventilation system
- Renovate the toilets
… and that’s not all, we still have a lot planned!
We're on the home stretch, that's the good news! The bad news is that the measures have consumed a huge amount of building materials and incurred significant costs. So far, we have financed a large part from our own resources.
Unfortunately, during the construction period, we cannot open the "new RESET" and therefore cannot generate any income. The entire RESET team is currently unemployed and still working on the construction site - for free! Fortunately, there are also volunteers who support us with their dedicated energy. Nevertheless, we currently only have expenses.
So that underground culture can continue to take place in a small live music club in Berlin Kreuzberg, away from the mainstream, in a very special place (the
gastronomy and show history at Wiener Straße 34 dates back around 125 years!), where a wide variety of bands, musicians, and artists find a stage,

Don’t let the RESET Club die!

Dear friends,
Last week, Reset was raided by the Ordnungsamt and the police. Around 50 officers stormed the club and shut down the show after just two songs, forcing our guests to leave.
Like Cortina Bob before us—and so many venues in the city center—Reset has faced ongoing tensions with its neighbors. On one hand, we deeply want to coexist peacefully and respectfully with our surroundings. On the other hand, Wiener Straße 34 has been home to some form of alternative venue for over 40 years, and we see ourselves as part of the unique cultural fabric of Kreuzberg.
Over the past years, we’ve invested heavily in renovations and soundproofing. Unfortunately, complaints from a few individuals have continued, and now, the authorities have acted.
We’re sad to announce that Reset will be closed for the coming weeks.
In a time where venues are disappearing, costs are rising, and Kreuzberg is changing fast (Zaun in Görli, anyone?), we’re doing everything we can to survive. To support this, we’re launching a GoFundMe to help cover further renovation work and rent while we’re closed. All funds will go directly to these needs.
--- All funds raised will be used exclusively for renovation costs, rent during our forced closure, and payments to authorities (fines, fees, etc.).
No money will be used for salaries or any personal benefit. ---
All shows scheduled through June-July are canceled. We’re looking for alternative venues for these events—please reach out if you can help.
We hope to be back on our feet soon and keep the punk spirit of Kreuzberg alive.
We’ll keep you updated on the rest of the summer.
Much love,
Team Reset
