Hello Folks!

My name is Aiden Torris. I'm setting up this fundraiser to help my cousin John Torris (from Dromin,Dunleer,Co. Louth) who has Motor Neurone disease (MND).

He was diagnosed 18 months ago and it has moved rapidly through him.

In that short time he has lost the use of both his legs and it has moved into his arms. He is confined to a wheelchair and needs help with the everyday basic things that we all take for granted.

Yet, he is the strongest person i know. From day one, he accepted his fate and faced it head on. He has never lost his sense of humour and is the best company to be in. He has a gift for making people laugh, with his quick wit and storytelling.

He is married 30 years to his wife Margaret and they have a son James who is in his 20's.

John was a self employed roofer all of his life and in later years changed his career to be a lorry driver for Wogan Build Centre in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Due to his illness, John no longer works and his wife Margaret is now caring for him fulltime 24/7.

100% of money raised will go to John and his wife to help them:

1. To adapt their home.

2. To buy medical assessories as the disease progresses.

3. To help with day to day bills.

4. And above all, to help keep John as comfortable as is possible in the circumstances.

John has suffered more than most in the last 4 years.

He lost his brother Joe Torris, Dunleer, in a terrible accident 3.5 years ago aged 57 and his brother Shay Torris, also from Dunleer, 2 years ago also aged 57.

On June 22nd 2026 John was 57.

This particular age carries many sad memories and emotions for him,
