Baby Yates Adoption

My name is Michele Yates  and as many of you know, I’ve been preparing my heart and home to grow my family through adoption. I believe adoption is a calling and not something to be entered into lightly, so when God first started nudging in this direction, after much prayer and research, I decided to take a step of faith and go where He was leading.

I have been so encouraged by the love and support already received by family, friends and church family members who have graciously walked beside me thus far. It’s such a blessing to be surrounded by a tribe of amazing individuals so excited to welcome this precious little one with open arms.

Adoption is expensive and is one of the main reasons it was not pursued earlier, but when God places something on your heart it means taking that leap of faith and trusting that He will provide a way. 

The Cost of Adoption

The cost of adoption can be as high as $30-50K and we’re doing everything we can to raise the needed funds in quick fashion. Here are just a few things we’re doing to bring Baby Yates home:

     ~ Greatly economizing at home
     ~ Applying for adoption grants
     ~ T-shirt sales through Bonfire 
     ~ Selling items on Etsy  
         (I'll be adding mugs, pillows, t-shirts & aprons soon)
     ~ Selling everything possible at yard sales, Facebook, Craigslist & Ebay
     ~ This GoFundMe fundraiser 


How You Can Help

So many have asked how they can help through this process and I would be so honored to have you join us in our journey as we embark on this life changing adventure. My hope by inviting you into this process is to build a community united in hope and prayer for our sweet one to come and our baby’s first mom and dad. 

100% of ALL funds raised through this campaign are going straight to the Yates Family Adoption Fund to help cover the following costs:

     •  Agency and attorney fees
     •  Homestudy fees
     •  Adoption consultant fees
     •  Travel expenses for baby’s birth
     •  Lactation consultations (yes, I will be breast feeding)
     •  Medical care for baby and expectant mother


Prayer Request

One of the most important things our supporters can do is pray. Please pray for a healthy growing baby and expectant mama. Pray that pregnancy complications are minimal and that God’s loving arms cradle them as they both grow. Pray that this amazing expectant mama will be surrounded by a strong group of counselors, mentors, family and friends who support her in this selfless act of love. Please pray that she experiences the love of Jesus during all seasons of life and that she knows how truly cherished she is. 

Pray for our continued relationship with both parents as we include them in our family legacy. Also pray for all parties involved including our agency, attorney, social worker and adoption consultant and that everyone involved has only the best interest for baby and expectant family.

And also pray for my heart as I prepare for the journey ahead, that I continue to seek God’s guidance in every moment and for peace and acceptance in situations that are out of my control.
