Hello everyone, I'm doing this for my family as it is hard for them to ask for help as they try to get everything done by themselves. Since the beginning of this year, Angel has been in and out of the hospital for 4 months straight due to his hereditary pancreatitis. (He doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. He was diagnosed with this condition in high school. We understood he would get attacks occasionally just because he has inherited this genetic disorder.) Yet during those 4 months we knew something was really wrong as his attacks would stay longer than normal and come back within 3 to 4 days after the last one. He lost about 40 to 60 lbs as he was unable to keep food or water down. Yet ER Doctor after ER Doctor said there was nothing they could do except pain management and wait for it to pass. They didn't push to do more tests than their normal checklist. Finally, he found a doctor that took him seriously. A part of his pancreas is in necrosis with pancreatic stones, and a mass. During this entire time, he has also been having chest pains and has now been diagnosed with a collapsed lung and fluid completely filling it due to the pancreas. During the 4 months he was previously in the hospital, his family's emergency funds have depleted to nothing. He is worried about going into the hospital again (even though the doctor insisted) as he has no extra money to cover co pays, meds (some not cover under insurance), or household bills while he's is there for each operation and recovery after. He doesn't want to burden his family with the stress of unpaid bills. We're asking if you can assist him and his family with anything you're willing to give. Thank you for reading and helping him on this journey.
