It’s been the hardest 6 months of our lives, and I am coming to you humbly to ask for your support as I look towards an uncertain future. We are sleeping hungry and moving from place to place to try and stay safe. None of us knows what the next minute will bring and we’ve seen too much death and destruction.

My name is Mohammed Shawali and I am a father to two caring sons and four beautiful girls, a husband to my loving wife, and a grandfather to two baby girls. I am scared for their safety and want us to survive.

In December of 2023, I made a dangerous trip to northern Gaza after hearing news that my home was in a targeted area. It was then that I came face to face with the reality that my children, my wife, my grandchildren were all now homeless. I used to have an optometry clinic, it too was targeted by an attack and destroyed.

The future is uncertain for us, but I have people depending on me and I refuse to give up. I am asking for your support and your help as I take steps to help us evacuate so we might have a better chance in the future.

I never wanted or expected my family to leave our homeland, but sadly, the situation there is forcing everyone to leave - my family is exposed to death at every minute.

The funds I collect will go towards supporting my family in this devastating time - purchasing food, water, clothes, diapers, formula, and helping us shelter in Gaza, and eventually evacuation. Due to high levels of inflation and the evacuation rates, I am appealing for 50,000 from your generosity.
