Forgotten Harvest works to relieve hunger in the Detroit Metropolitan community by “rescuing" surplus, prepared and perishable food (meat, dairy, vegetables, fruits, breads, and prepared foods) and donating it to emergency food providers.  However, funds to Forgotten Harvest benefit communities worldwide. Feeding America (Forgotten Harvest being a member), The Global Foodbanking Network, and Hilton Worldwide all have multi-year partnerships running currently. Through these partnerships, 55,000 food banks in over 30 countries are supported and provided for.  However, even these large organizations need more help now than ever before since the resources they attempt to provide to those in need are extremely scarce because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
