How can you celebrate at home?

Not able to make any of the official events? Bring the celebration to you and host a Jubilee party. There are many ways you can get together with your friends , family and local community to mark the occasion. Here’s three top ideas to get you thinking.

cake

Host a cake sale

A cake sale is a great way to bring the community together to mark the occasion. Why not get creative with icing and decorate your sweet treats with jubilee designs. You can sell your cakes at your local school or even just on your street and raise funds for a local charity.

Have a street party

Get to know your neighbors and host a street party. The bank holiday is the perfect excuse to celebrate in the sun. Once you have chosen a day you can focus on the fun stuff such as which sandwiches to provide, what cakes to bake and what fruit to put in the pimms. Share the load by asking everyone to bring a dish. Don’t forget to let people know about the event on social media or why not do it the old fashioned way and post a flier through their door.

Decorate your home and street

Get into the jubilee spirit by decorating your home. Get out your union jack bunting and flags and go crazy. Brightly coloured ribbons and string are also a great way to brighten up your home if you are decorating on a budget.
