I am raising money for SSAFA in memory of two very important people in my life: my grandad, who recently lost his battle with lung cancer, and my uncle Nicky, who tragically died in a car accident many years ago.

At my grandad’s funeral, I had the incredibly moving honour of meeting the men he fought alongside — his fellow comrades from the Gulf and Falklands wars. Speaking with them, hearing their memories, and learning about the life they shared during times of war was something I will never forget. It filled me with overwhelming pride — pride in my grandad and uncle, pride in my family, and pride in growing up as an army child.

Listening to these men made me realise just how much they sacrificed, not only during war but for the rest of their lives. The trauma, PTSD, and invisible battles many veterans continue to face are things most of us will never truly understand — yet they carry them every single day.

Inspired by my grandad, and like my dad before me, I am pushing myself far beyond my comfort zone and running my first ever half marathon in their memory. Every mile I run is for my grandad, for my uncle Nicky, and for the men and women who have given so much and continue to live with the lasting impact of conflict.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, no matter how small. Your support will help SSAFA continue their vital work supporting service personnel, veterans, and their families when they need it most.

we are throwing ourselves of a perfectly good airplane — not because we’ve lost our marbles (well, maybe a few), but to raise money for ex-servicemen who’ve already shown true courage.

They’ve had our backs, now it’s our turn to have theirs. Every pound donated helps support those who’ve served.

Celebration of Life for Graham Harker supporting SSAFA
I just want it thanks everyone who’s sent a card since my dad passed or left a kind message on Facebook. Many have asked about funeral arrangements which will all be put on dads Facebook page ‘Graham vegas’ we’ve asked that no one brings flowers or cards and instead they give to the collection box on the day or via this link online.

Dad served in the royal signals for 5 years when he was younger and was proud to serve his country. I know he’ll be smiling down on us now knowing that we’re supporting SSAFA who supporting veterans.

Support Us as We Take on the Warrior Challenge for SSAFA

Myself and Brad Candon — two serving British Army soldiers will be taking on the Warrior Challenge in Morocco: a 110km endurance run across tough terrain and extreme heat. We’re doing this to raise £1,400 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA provides vital support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families during some of life’s hardest moments. We’re taking on this challenge to give back and help raise funds for the work they do every single day.

Donate to the DAMO DASH this World Mental Health Day!
Join us in making a difference this World Mental Health Day. We are raising money to benefit SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity who have been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. The Northolt DAMO team will be indoor Cycling a total of 281 miles on 10 October. The 281 miles is representative of the 281 British Military personnel who have taken their own life since 2005. Those of you that know us will know that only Ed is an experienced cyclist, the rest us can merely ride a bike so we are definitely in for a challenge. Any donation will help make an impact whilst we will be grateful for all support and encouragement on the day.

Bharat Gurung is fundraising
Competing in Para’s 10 event to raise fund for SSAFA.
3 SP’s from Sp Sqn, 3DSR will be taking part in the Paras 10 – a gruelling 10-mile endurance tab – on 27th September in Catterick. Originally developed as a test for Parachute Regiment recruits, the Paras 10 is widely recognised as one of the toughest physical challenges in the UK. Each participant will be completing the course with a 35 lb bergen, testing not only physical stamina and mental resilience, but also the teamwork and mutual support that are essential to cross the finish line together. For us, this challenge represents more than just personal achievement – it’s about coming together, pushing beyond our limits, and standing for something greater.
We are proud to be undertaking this challenge in support of SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity. SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) provides lifelong support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Whether it’s helping a young soldier transition to civilian life, offering emotional support to a bereaved family, or assisting a veteran facing homelessness or hardship, SSAFA is there every step of the way. We chose SSAFA because we believe no member of the Armed Forces community should face life’s challenges alone. Joe and Katy's cycle from London to Brighton
We are taking on the challenge of cycling from London to Brighton on the 14th September to raise money in aid of SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity. SSAFA provides support to our Forces and their families, they use their money to support more than 85,000 people in need, from veterans to currently serving personnel.

The journey is 55 mile through country lanes, ending with tackling Ditchling Beacon, a mile long climb to the top of the South Downs averaging at a 9.4% gradient.

Despite our training, this will be no easy feat, as we are both equally incompetent; from Katy falling off her bike the week before her half Ironman, to Joe more recently almost ending up in a canal on a training ride. We would really appreciate your support!!!
