Little Avery was rescued recently after being found on someone’s porch starving. Noticing her little belly was very distended and had a gagging cough sound. Radiographs showed something in her stomach. Since we did not know her history, we were not sure if it was rocks, litter, or something else. An endoscopy was needed to access. Findings showed major food bloat from dog food! This is going to take time to digest and hopefully she will feel better. Avery is also fighting anemia from a flea infection. I've fostered this special lady, Nova, at my home for a month. Sadly, I’m not able to provide her with the forever home she deserves. With support from dedicated rescue team, New Albany Pet Rescue, I want to help get her into a training program.

She suffers with PTSD due to a viscous dog attack early in life, along with being neglected, abused and failed by a despicable human. Training and rehabilitation will give her the opportunities she needs so that we can ease her suffering and find Nova her fur-ever home. I want to help give this pup the life she so deserves.

Sophie was rescued from an irresponsible backyard breeding situation just 4 days ago. Her previous owners had let her struggle through labor for 40 hours before seeking medical assistance. This was Sophie's 3rd litter in only 2 years and yorkie's are notorious for distoycia (difficult births).

 

The owners who had bred her sadly let her get to this inhumane state and then abandoned her.. this is when we stepped in to try and save Sophie.

 

Once in our care - Sophie needed immediate life saving measures. It had been so long since her labor started that by the time she got the help she should have had days earlier; she was so septic that her 3 puppies (one stuck in her pelvic canal) sadly did not survive.

 

Sophie underwent an emergency C-section and has since been given every ounce of care we can provide. Sadly, she is not out of the woods yet and will require continued hospitalization which is racking up quite a large bill.

 

Rescuers know that this is a tough time for donations but if you can spare any amount to help offset Sophie's costs, every penny is appreciated. Her bill is already over $4,000 and she still has a long way to go. Your donations, thoughts and prayers for Sophie are crucial to her healing.
