Saving Sophie

Sophie was rescued from an irresponsible backyard breeding situation just 4 days ago. Her previous owners had let her struggle through labor for 40 hours before seeking medical assistance. This was Sophie's 3rd litter in only 2 years and yorkie's are notorious for distoycia (difficult births).

 

The owners who had bred her sadly let her get to this inhumane state and then abandoned her.. this is when we stepped in to try and save Sophie.

 

Once in our care - Sophie needed immediate life saving measures. It had been so long since her labor started that by the time she got the help she should have had days earlier; she was so septic that her 3 puppies (one stuck in her pelvic canal) sadly did not survive.

 

Sophie underwent an emergency C-section and has since been given every ounce of care we can provide. Sadly, she is not out of the woods yet and will require continued hospitalization which is racking up quite a large bill.

 

Rescuers know that this is a tough time for donations but if you can spare any amount to help offset Sophie's costs, every penny is appreciated. Her bill is already over $4,000 and she still has a long way to go. Your donations, thoughts and prayers for Sophie are crucial to her healing.
