Our amazing friend Julia was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s been a tough time, but she’s facing everything with incredible strength—and your support so far has meant the world.

This Sunday, May 4th, my mom, and I are riding 60 kilometers in the New York City Five Borough Bike Tour for two big reasons:

1. To show Julia that we’re there for her—cheering her on, thinking of her, and riding for her.

2. To raise money for breast cancer awareness, research, and support for others going through the same fight.

We’ll be wearing pink Team Julia jerseys during the ride because we want to show her that we got her back.

We are a club devoted to community service and volunteer work to make an impact in the community. Our club, GUILD, is hosting a Pink Party, which is a fundraiser to raise awareness for breast cancer. All proceeds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation which provides support, early detection screenings, and breast health education for individuals affected.

I am so honored and excited to have the opportunity to run for the 2024 Sigma Phi Epsilon Queen of Hearts and represent this philanthropy. As a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha, I am surrounded by women that are just as passionate about our philanthropy as I am, who each have their own personal story and relationship to breast cancer. Every year, one in eight women receives a breast cancer diagnosis, a statistic that underscores the urgent need for education, support, and advancements in treatment. Whether it be your mother, your sister, a close friend, or someone else, breast cancer affects every and all women. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease. Your generous contributions will help fund critical research initiatives, provide vital resources for patients and their families, and promote awareness in our communities. Pushing for not only the funding of research towards a cure, but educating others about the importance of receiving yearly screenings to prevent breast cancer early on is crucial. Circuit 31 Fitness is partnering with the National Breast Cancer Foundation for our Push-Ups for a Purpose event! We are encouraging everyone to pledge $0.50 for each push-up they complete at the event, and Circuit 31 Fitness will match the total donation up to $500!

People in the Dallas car community are raising money to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are hosting Car Shows around North Texas to help fundraise for this important cause.

The Girls' League of Diamond Bar High School is committed to being part of the effort to find a cure for breast cancer. In the last twenty years, Girls' League has raised and donated over $20,000 to this cause, and we won't stop until that becomes a reality. Please help us reach our fundraising goal by entering our "Run the Pink Way" event. 100% of donations will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Family & Friends – another year and another 4x4x48 Challenge will be starting this Friday with my good friend Lane Stiles. The challenge consists of running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours (12 runs totaling 48 miles). It was created by David Goggins to push one’s limits & resilience, while encouraging some fundraising along the way. This year we will be raising awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and have a fundraising goal of $1,000.

Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form worldwide with 1 in 8 women, or 13%, developing the disease in their lifetime. Every 2 minutes, a new woman is diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the United States. Chances are high that you know someone who has directly been affected. However, there are more than 4 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. and it is a disease with a very high survival rate when detected and treated early. Early screening, detection, and prevention is key. This is something my family is learning about this year in regards to BRCA gene mutations and what that means moving forward.
