October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Most people have had some sort of interaction with it. Whether that be a family member, a friend, a co-worker or someone you have met in passing.

I'm Teddi Garson, and I'm looking to my community to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Their mission is to help those in need by providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services. Every donation can make a significant difference in someone’s life and families facing this challenge.

For those of you that dont know, my mother lost her battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer at the end of October 2012. She was a huge advocate for her community and spreading awareness/educating the people around her. Like her, I try to do my due-diligence and help the people around me when I can. This year for BCAM, Im hoping to make a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of my Mom, Cheryl.

I have set a goal to reach $2,500 by the end of this month, to which I will shave my head in solidarity for those that lost their battle to breast cancer, are currently battling, or are in remission.

Your contributions will directly support NBCF’s work such as:

Providing educational resources to promote early detection and awareness of breast cancer.

Offering support services that empower those and their families throughout their journey.
