hi my names Jakayla, This fundraiser is dedicated to raising awareness and supporting breast cancer research in honour of my mum. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and, after a long and difficult journey, beat cancer in 2015. In late 2021, she was devastatingly diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, meaning it was terminal. Her story is a powerful reminder that breast cancer can return and progress, even years later. She bravely fought for as long as she could and passed away on December 9th, 2025. By sharing her journey, i hope to raise awareness about early detection, ongoing research, and the hope to save other families from the absolute heartbreak to lose someone to this awful cancer. Every donation helps fund research and brings us one step closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

I’m raising money to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), a cause that means a great deal to me. Every donation helps fund vital breast cancer research and programs that support those affected.

The NBCF awards grants through a rigorous national, peer-review process to advance world-class research. I chose to cut my ponytail so my hair can potentially be used to help someone feel more like themselves during a difficult time.

At the start of December, my mum Abby and I are cutting and donating our hair in memory of someone who meant so much to both of us who passed away from breast cancer. We also want to dedicate this to all the incredible women in our lives who are currently undergoing treatment, who have survived, or who are bravely fighting breast cancer. We wanted to do something special to honour them and help others who are going through the same fight.

We’ll be donating our hair to Haarwensen, a charity in the Netherlands that creates wigs for children who’ve lost their hair due to medical reasons. Each wig brings a bit of confidence and comfort during such a hard time.

At the same time, we’re raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), an organisation working towards a future of zero deaths from breast cancer.

Our goal is to raise $5,000, and we’d be so grateful for any donation, big or small. Every bit helps make a difference. If you can't donate, you can still help by sharing this fundraiser.

What started as a simple idea to help support our beautiful Claire has become a chance for our community to gather, give back, and spread hope.

This event shines a spotlight on breast cancer awareness and support, with a goal of making it a tradition we can all look forward to every year.

Claire has chosen the National Breast Cancer Foundation as the beneficiary of this event, with every dollar raised going straight towards breast cancer research and awareness.

On Wednesday, August 6th, students and staff from Westminster School will be coming together in the fight against cancer. As part of our annual Cut 4 Cancer event, our brave Year 12 and Year 6 students along with dedicated teachers and staff will be cutting or buzzing their hair to raise awareness and vital funds for cancer research, support, and education.

With a late and very unfit decision to enter the finke desert race again. I’ve decided it’s more than racing or getting there and back this year.

I’m fundraising to support breast cancer awareness and research — a cause that affects thousands of families every year, including my own. In Australia, around 21,000 women are diagnosed annually — that’s about 58 every single day. The need for continued research, support, and better treatment options has never been more urgent.

Recently, my mum and others close to me have faced this battle. Watching their strength and resilience has deeply reinforced how vital it is to invest in care, support services, and life-changing research.

Through this fundraiser, I hope to play even a small part in driving progress and bringing hope to those impacted by breast cancer.

Even just a share would go along way and mean the world.

My 6 year old daughter, Mckenzie, has decided that she wants to cut her hair to donate and to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Over Christmas last year, my mum (her grandmother) was diagnosed with breast cancer. My daughter, being the incredible little girl she is, wants to donate her hair and do her part to help with cancer research to help her grandmother. It would mean the absolute world if you could donate, even just a little, to help support her in this. I am so proud of her for wanting to do this and make a difference in the world.
