At the start of December, my mum Abby and I are cutting and donating our hair in memory of someone who meant so much to both of us who passed away from breast cancer. We also want to dedicate this to all the incredible women in our lives who are currently undergoing treatment, who have survived, or who are bravely fighting breast cancer. We wanted to do something special to honour them and help others who are going through the same fight.
We’ll be donating our hair to Haarwensen, a charity in the Netherlands that creates wigs for children who’ve lost their hair due to medical reasons. Each wig brings a bit of confidence and comfort during such a hard time.
At the same time, we’re raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), an organisation working towards a future of zero deaths from breast cancer.
Our goal is to raise $5,000, and we’d be so grateful for any donation, big or small. Every bit helps make a difference. If you can't donate, you can still help by sharing this fundraiser.
A huge thank you to Di Barrington from Di’s Crowning Glories, and Charmaine Brennan from Kellys Way Hair Design for kindly donating their time and skills to cut our hair, and to everyone who supports, donates, or shares this cause.
Together, we can make a difference, one strand at a time.
