Misericordia Home

Kindly support a great cause in benefit of those with needs with the use of horticultural therapy. We are raising money to benefit Misericordia Home. As we  have been honored to be designing and installing  the Misericordia Holbrook Therapy Garden. Sponsored thru support of Garden Clubs of America and the Kenilworth Garden Club.

As part of our extensive work, we have designed 6 planter boxes to be set against the building windows facing the garden, that can be tended by those in wheel chairs and walkers. 

A small portion of the project is to be funded by the donation of individuals. Each raised planter box  is $225 assembled for each window filled with plants by volunteers and residents. This will cost an approx $1,500 for the installation of all the planters.

We provide the full continuum of care designed to meet each person's changing needs and maximize his or her independence, self- determination, interpersonal relationships and engagement in the community.

If you donate it will help many special needs adults and young adults adapt in to our community and become citizens in our world.  All of the funds go to Misericordia and to helping them become citizens. We need the funds by June 10th so we can get the donations to them as soon as possible. The support would mean so much to us because who have a opportunity to help others in need.  We would be so grateful for the help so we could help me and Daniels relatives find a way to become a adult in our society. My relationship with Misericordia Home started  30 years ago while dating my wife, Maura.  She told me about her sister Kate,  who lived at Misericordia in Chicago.  Misericordia is home to over 600 children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities.

At the time, I had 2 healthy sons and my experience with challenged people was limited to my student teaching in college.  This experience touched my heart.

Starting with my very first visit, I was hooked!  I was amazed with the cleanliness, the care and most of all the love that was given to Misericordia residents by the staff. I began organizing small fundraisers and have continued ever since. 

Last year,  with your help,  we raised enough money to cover the care of 1 resident through the  success of our annual Sportsmen's Dinner event. 

This year's dinner is on Thursday April 19th and we are looking forward to another record year! You can  be a part of this very special night by making a donation to this account.

 With your help, we can have an impact on changing the lives of God's special angels.
