My relationship with Misericordia Home started 30 years ago while dating my wife, Maura. She told me about her sister Kate, who lived at Misericordia in Chicago. Misericordia is home to over 600 children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities.
At the time, I had 2 healthy sons and my experience with challenged people was limited to my student teaching in college. This experience touched my heart.
Starting with my very first visit, I was hooked! I was amazed with the cleanliness, the care and most of all the love that was given to Misericordia residents by the staff. I began organizing small fundraisers and have continued ever since.
Last year, with your help, we raised enough money to cover the care of 1 resident through the success of our annual Sportsmen's Dinner event.
This year's dinner is on Thursday April 19th and we are looking forward to another record year! You can be a part of this very special night by making a donation to this account.
With your help, we can have an impact on changing the lives of God's special angels.
