We invite you to ADOPT-A-STUDENT ($100 per child) for the 4th Annual Wele Youth Camp scheduled for Friday, July 4, 2025, to Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Lake Placid Camp and Conference Center, 2665 Placid View Drive, Lake Placid, FL.

This camp is designed for underprivileged students (9th - 12th grades) from throughout Highlands County. Students have fun as they learn. Two nights and three days of camping to include food, fun, overnight camping, conference center facilities, guest speakers, workshop leaders, games, and hands-on learning activities.

Many of these underprivileged youth have never had an opportunity to attend a camp. Parents are not charged. We raise all of the funds, and the total cost of the camp is $8500. We are seeking to raise the balance of $2500 and need your help!!

Any donation will help make an impact. $5000 is the annual cost of operating the garden. Funds will be used to host health fairs, educational workshops, exhibits, children's programs, and fund maintenance of the Grow Community Teaching Garden (100 Anderson Street, Lake Placid, FL). Want to join us in making a difference? We're raising $5000 ($400 to cover fees) to sponsor 38 youths from Highlands County for the 3rd Annual "Wele Youth Leadership Camp & Conference to be held at Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center, Lake Placid, FL. The event is hosted by the Highway Park Neighborhood Council and Hicoria Pines Homes. Any donations will help make an impact on the lives of the youth of Highlands County. The camp will serve 18 boys and 18 girls primarily from disadvantaged communities. This year's theme is "Financial Freedom". Our youth will participate in fun outdoor activities, swimming, sports, camping, and team building. Not only will they have fun, but will also learn via workshops, lively debates, and hands-on training on how money works and other topics selected by the youth from the 2nd Annual Wele Camp in 2022. Funds will cover the camp, insurance, food, games, camp counselors, and prizes. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the youth of our county.

The 2nd "Wele" Youth Leadership's Back to School Summer Camp, August 26 - Aug 28, 2022 at Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center, Lake Placid, FL is BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND. Your donations will help make an impact on the youth of Highlands County. Thanks in advance for contributing to this cause, which means so much. Participating teens will be provided workshops (anti-bullying, communication techniques, team building and more). Professionals, including licensed mental health counselors, will lead workshops.
