Help us strengthen our nursing team at Lao Friends Hospital for Children – the ONLY pediatric hospital in the north of the entire country. Last year alone, more than 44,000 children in need received FREE Quality Compassionate Care. Numbers are rising.
WE NEED MORE NURSES!
In a country where 1 out of every 25 children doesn't live to see their fifth birthday, LFHC has become a lifeline since it opened its doors 10 years ago. Laos remains one of the poorest nations in the world, with one of the highest child mortality rates in Southeast Asia. Children still die from treatable conditions.
The hospital has proven that world-class FREE pediatric care is possible in Laos, but only with enough nurses to deliver it.
The reality is stark. More and more sick children arrive at our doors every day. The demand is skyrocketing. We see more desperate families with nowhere else to turn.
WHY NURSES?
LFHC currently only has 85 Nurses. We are facing a serious shortage in staff, especially nurses who are all stretched thin across 13 departments. They are our largest workforce. It’s critical that we grow and support our nursing team to continue delivering high-quality care.
In Laos, a nurse’s salary is modest compared to Western countries. At LFHC, we’re committed to paying our nurses above the national average to recognise their vital role. What might buy you lunch, can fund an entire day of nursing care in Laos. This means every dollar you donate multiplies into hours of expert medical attention for sick children. A small donation can strengthen a vital workforce that, in turn, can literally save lives. The impact is profound!
Contributing to a nurse’s salary is also investing in the future of healthcare in Laos, as many of our senior nurses are mentoring the next generation of nurses.
