Hi, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Meg.
On the 12th of July it would have been my sister’s 40th birthday, and I’ve decided to take a leap — literally and figuratively. I’m embarking on a charity sky dive in memory of her, to raise funds for East Anglia Air Ambulance, an organisation that provides critical care to people in life-threatening situations. This is my way of honouring my sister’s life and the extraordinary impact that emergency services, like East Anglia Air Ambulance, have on families like mine.
A Life Cut Short
It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years since we lost my sister. She was vibrant, full of life, and had a heart of gold. Tragically, her life was cut short by a brain aneurysm — a silent killer that struck without warning. She passed away far too young, leaving a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. My sister would have turned 40 this year, a milestone we never imagined we would face without her.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but the grief becomes a little bearable when we find ways to honour their memory and continue their legacy.
Though she’s no longer here physically, her spirit continues to guide me every day. As her family, we carry her memory with us and celebrate her life in ways that keep her legacy alive. And for me, this sky dive is a powerful way to channel my grief and honour her memory.
Why East Anglia Air Ambulance?
In the face of unexpected tragedy, the East Anglia Air Ambulance team was there for my family. Their rapid response and life-saving interventions are something that we will always be grateful for. Whether it’s a heart attack, serious accident, or a medical emergency like my sister’s, their dedicated crew saves lives every single day.
East Anglia Air Ambulance is entirely charity-funded, and without the generosity of individuals like you, they wouldn’t be able to continue their vital work. The money raised from this sky dive will help ensure that the organisation can keep its helicopters in the air, staffed by highly trained paramedics and doctors who are ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
Taking the Leap
I won’t lie — the idea of jumping out of a plane is both exhilarating and terrifying. But as I prepare for this challenge, I think of my sister and the courage she showed in life, and I know she’d be cheering me on, just as she always did whenever we would need to face our fears. This dive isn’t just for me; it’s for her, for the lives East Anglia Air Ambulance saves, and for the families who depend on their incredible service.
Every donation will make a difference, no matter the size. It’s not just about raising money — it’s about showing support for an organisation that touches countless lives every day, and for my sister, whose memory deserves to be celebrated in the most meaningful way I know.

As I gear up for the jump, I’ll be carrying my sister’s memory with me, knowing that in doing so, I’m making a difference in more ways than one. Thank you for your support — both emotional and financial — as we remember my sister and honour her spirit by giving back to the incredible team that saves so many lives.
