Choco Bunny Tail Amputation
Rescue is anything but predictable. Choco Bunny is an 8-month-old kitten who has already endured multiple serious medical issues, including an emergency tail amputation after her adoption fell through. We’re now asking for help to cover her care so she can fully recover and get the safe, comfortable life she deserves.
She came to us through our TNR-to-adoption program after we saw how sweet she was. During her spay, the vet discovered her uterus was compromised and without surgery, she likely wouldn’t have survived much longer.
At the time, she had a bald spot on her tail. We suspected ringworm, but testing under a UV light was negative, and no concerns were noted by the vet.
She was adopted, but her new family later noticed her tail rapidly worsening. One morning, it had deteriorated to the point it looked like it might fall off. They also saw signs of aggression, likely from pain that had gone unnoticed. She had always been gentle in our care, so this was a sudden and concerning change. Unable to provide the advanced medical care she needed, they surrendered her back to us.
Our vet recommended amputating more than half of her tail to prevent infection and further complications. Even with limited funds…and while already fundraising for another cat’s dental, this became urgent. We had to act quickly to protect her health.
Any donation toward Choco Bunny’s care is deeply appreciated. She’s just a baby, and she deserves a future filled with comfort, safety, and love once she’s fully healed.
