BACK STORY: I am Tessa Warnock Dahlke, the Gold Star (Step) Mom of SSG Jason S. Dahlke, a 1/75 Army Ranger killed by enemy gunfire in Paktika, Afghanistan in 2009. In 2011, I started a personal charity walk in his memory. My goal is to gain support for the Rangers while also reaching the equivalent distance from our home in Jacksonville, FL, to the location where Jason was killed. I got there in 2017. I now need your help to get back home!!! About 5,000 miles left to go as of mid-November. Please support me by supporting our Rangers. Donate today!

Support Linda's Journey to Independence
I am Linda Standley and would like to get a car so I can get to my clients' houses.

I am a volunteer worker as a respite care worker, which I enjoy through an organization in Jacksonville, Florida.

I am traveling by bus and sometimes my daughter helps me out after work to take me home and grocery shopping.

I am 73 years old with some arthritis in both knees and feet and walk slowly.

I am also trying to take over mortgage payments since my mother died in 2014. I am the executor of the estate.

With my handicap, I feel like I am a target for people who try to take advantage of people like me.

I fear a lot about being robbed and being exposed in the community going on my journey helping the elderly in need of respite care and personal care. I even like to volunteer in delivering meals on special days like Thanksgiving.

I couldn't volunteer when asked by my supervisor.

It's so important to stop standing on the corner waiting for the bus and walking through the community.
