I am Linda Standley and would like to get a car so I can get to my clients' houses.
I am a volunteer worker as a respite care worker, which I enjoy through an organization in Jacksonville, Florida.
I am traveling by bus and sometimes my daughter helps me out after work to take me home and grocery shopping.
I am 73 years old with some arthritis in both knees and feet and walk slowly.
I am also trying to take over mortgage payments since my mother died in 2014. I am the executor of the estate.
With my handicap, I feel like I am a target for people who try to take advantage of people like me.
- I fear a lot about being robbed and being exposed in the community going on my journey helping the elderly in need of respite care and personal care. I even like to volunteer in delivering meals on special days like Thanksgiving.
I couldn't volunteer when asked by my supervisor.
It's so important to stop standing on the corner waiting for the bus and walking through the community.
