Youth Workshops @WorkshopRVA

Donation protected
Engage, The Foundation, is an organization that connects college students and community members with children and youth in their communities for mentorship and group workshops. We do this with the aim of community building and fostering positive youth development. Last month Engage, The Foundation opened a new venue called Workshop at 420 W. Broad St. in Richmond VA.

WorkshopRVA will be the headquarters of a program called Young Business Builders (YBB). With YBB, college mentors help kids as young as 8 explore their interests and design socially responsible businesses.

Our partners have just alarmed us that we have 50+ youth referrals coming to utilize the program at Workshop!

Due to lack of funding support, this is an emergency call out for your assistance!

Engage, The Foundation is unfortunately now running low on funds after investing so much into the development of Workshop.

These emergency funds are needed by Friday October, 26th!

Here’s an estimate of the number of youth that will be served from this goal at the best rate we could manage:

50 kids

$25/week per kid

12 weeks (countdown starts on date kid starts, any missed dates can be made up)

$15,000

Below are examples of modules/workshops offered:

Physical Health & Wellness (Self Care)
Personal Module (Self Concept)
Purpose, Identity & Direction Module (Values) Social Module (Healthy Relationships) Leadership Development Module (Role Model) Continuous Education Module (Critical Thinking)
History/Culture (Understanding Your History) Creative Expression Module (Arts, Crafts, Trades)
Economic Module (Wealth Building) Organizational Development (Learning Order) Entrepreneurship Module (Idea Creation) Marketing Development Module (Networking) Business Development Module (Business Plan)

Our current goal is only $6000 at this moment to help cover the lease and begin sponsoring the kids to attend with everything they need ready and waiting!

Monthly progress reports will be presented on site at Workshop and also emailed in the form of a newsletter to all who donate.

Here’s some examples of past youth workshops and the venue space:
