About Yes Scotlands Future

Yes Scotlands Future is a community page on Facebook with a presence on twitter and the web.

We were founded in 2015 but our founding admins were active in the run up to and throughout 2014

We have over 26,000 followers and regularly have a ‘reach’ into 300,000 or more.On one occasion reaching just short of 2 million.

We like to think we have created a platform to share information to help you win over more people to the same positive view of Scotland we all share. In order to do that we filter out swearing and offensive posts and do not tolerate trolling behaviour.They are blocked immediately.

What our readers say;

'.......An excellent piece, characterised by calm honest appraisal.'

'......A great read. Thanks for sharing'

Why we are asking for support.

Yes Scotlands Future is run entirely by volunteer citizen journalists offering their time freely. We have jobs, families, children and grandchildren to take up our time in fact we always say family comes first.

Our commitment to our on-line community is solid though and we have been very prolific at developing the page as a means of communicating positive messages about Scotland’s journey to Indy. We do this through posting articles from our own writers and guest writers; posting visual images and ‘red-boxing’ tweets to highlight current topical debates very often a full 24 hours before they appear in the mainstream media.

We believe in doing this with good humour and sometimes bit of satire- you have to have a laugh sometimes!

Visual imagery is very important to us and at the core of this crowdfund appeal is the need to renew and replace digital hardware and software to keep up to speed and prepared for what we see as a very active period ahead.However we do so modestly and are seeking £5,000 to fund us over the next period. If everyone contributed it should work out about 20p each!

We are committed to maintaining high standards and keeping the page growing by setting up a web page to compliment the facebook presence.

We will be shortly announcing a platform for the sharing of graphics and memes for everybody to share and some the resource we are asking for will help us to complete that task.

We take this course of action specifically at this time as we see the need to prepare and be the best we can for Yes Scotlands Future. We thank you for your support in helping us develop high quality citizen journalism among a group of dedicated volunteers.
