A smalltown has been brutally damaged by mother nature
As I sat in the Jackson county agricultural office last Thursday trying to figure out what I was going to do with 120 acres of hurricane damaged pine trees, I thought about why I am complaining about trees when there were damaged houses and businesses seemingly everywhere.
After my meeting with the forestry folks in Marianna, I drove around Jackson County just looking.  First thoughts were about how much devastation there was.  I was flabbergasted!  Secondly, I was impressed with the activity there was with FEMA and other organizations cleaning up and handing out food I thought how insensitive of me to worry about my trees, when others are really hurting.  I was moved to do something.

We as a community can help our brothers and sisters in need
I called a neighbor (whose house was severely damaged) and inquired about local outreaches to the community and its members that needed assistance.  He directed me to Kevin Yoder, associate Pastor at Rivertown Community Church.  Kevin was on top of it.  He told me that the immediate food survival needs (food, temp shelter, water, etc.) were being met with many local and national organizations as well as FEMA.

FEMA assistance is not enough.  Your help is needed!
What was really needed were short term grants of money for those folks that weren’t working because their place of business was severely damaged and wasn’t back in operation, or that were out of a place to stay because they lost their homes or part of their homes.  Many in Jackson County are uninsured or under insured.   Kevin’s church is providing help and was making plans to work with other foundations and groups to not only provide short term grants, but to help build and rebuild homes for those in need.

Please join us to help out our neighbors!  Together we can do this!
My thoughts were who would know better about identifying those in need than a local church.  I approached our team at work and they came up with some ideas to help.  We will match dollar for dollar donations so that our donation will have maximum impact.

DONATE TODAY!
We will provide up to $10,000.00 matching funds, so that hopefully we can together provide $20,000.00 help to the Rivertown Community Church help those who need help most.

Donations are a tax deductible expense.

Full Disclosure:
My name is Richard Oreair.  I am owner of Oreair Electric out of Jacksonville Florida.  I own property in West Florida and was deeply affected by the devastation but not like the people whose lives are severely impacted. I observed post Hurricane Michael and pictures & words don't fully capture the devastation of this storm. Recovery and rebuilding takes time & resources.  We can help the local community get back on their feet with the assistance of Rivertown Community Church who with The Wright Foundation of Marianna and other local charitable groups are in the forefront of helping those in the community who  are in need.
