Blankets For The Homeless

Homeless camps like these have sprung up all over the Portland area, and many more sleep on the streets, often with inadequate protection from the elements.

Last winter, a number of homeless people lost their lives in the harsh winter weather.  Public sources of help are strained to the limits, and a large number of homeless are unsheltered.

Funds generated by this GoFundMe drive will go to purchasing warm blankets, warm hats, gloves, and other items of need such as personal and feminine hygiene products.   We will then distrubute these items directly to unsheltered homeless people before harsh, cold weather sets in.  

I walk in the Rose Quarter area, Old Town, and Downtown each morning on my way to work, and it breaks my heart to see fellow human beings suffering, who have not even minimal protection from the elements.

Please help with a cash pledge, if you can.  If you're unable to donate personally, please share this fund raising drive with your friends and family.  Either gesture would be greatly appreciated by the homeless of Portland, not to mention my own gratitude.

The $5000 goal is a pie-in-the-sky goal, however, no matter how much is raised, it will all go to the area homeless.  I've sourced blankets and other items that will allow for a very nice care package for under $25 per recipient.
