I am going to start my story from the beginning, but I want to be quick. Since I started my nurse career I have wanted to go to Africa and help people. Nursing is a very vocational job and I love being a nurse. I started my degree in Spain but the last year I moved to the US for an exchange to get more experiences.
I have a volunteer opportunity for this summer in Ethiopia, it will be in a mission located in Adwa. My duties will be: give health care to children in a mission but also, I will teach them English.
Why we teach them some English? Because if they don't have a medium level of English at 14 years old they can't continue with education and their future stays very limited.
Because I finish my degree in the next months I wasn't able to save money for this trip. The organization is created by two students who have been there twice. We have the support of the mission, they will provide us food and a place to sleep, but we have to pay the plane ticket and visa. If I can't gather the money I won't be able to participate, and the volunteer program of this year will be incomplete because the other volunteers are teachers. I am the only medical staff. Please help me to help these people.
