Will Willis is 33 years old. He is a loving and devoted husband to his wife Bonnie. They have four little children, three boys and one girl. He works as an Engineer with the Asheville Fire Department and co-owns an electrical business. Will also serves his community as a volunteer with the Ebbs Chapel Fire Department. He has selflessly served with this group for 15 years, and currently serves as Deputy Chief. After undergoing surgery to remove his kidney in April of this year, he was diagnosed with a rare subtype of Translocation Renal Cell Carcinoma. A scan six months later shows that this aggressive cancer has returned in multiple areas. At Will's most recent doctor visit, the doctor spoke in terms of months not years to enjoy life with his family. Unfortunately, there are currently no proven curable options for this type of cancer. Will and Bonnie will be making further treatment decisions after an upcoming scan in December. If you would like to help Will and his family as he fights for his life please consider donating to this cause.

As those of you who have been following this page know, Will went to meet Jesus on Feb. 27th. In the final testimony that Will shared at his church in January of this year, he told his church members "God is good! In all situations, God is good!" I am sure he would want each of you to remember this same message: God is Good All the Time - All the Time God is Good.

This has been a most trying time for Will's family, but through the kindness of friends and strangers, God's goodness has shone! We will never be able to express the depths of gratitude that we have for all those who have helped Will's family during this earthly trial, but one last time, we want to say "Thank you. Thank for giving. Thank you for loving. Thank you for praying." Please continue to pray for Bonnie and her four children as they adjust to their new normal.

I am going to leave this page open for just a few more weeks in case anyone wants to make one last donation to the well-being of Will's family. The page will close on March 31st. Again, with heartfelt gratitude we are so humbled through this experience. Praise the Lord that our Hope is not in earthly things, but in the eternal promises of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"And the peace of God, that passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7

Will Willis left his earthly home on Feb. 27, 2018 - his 34th birthday - to rest safely in the arms of his Heavenly Father. Will lived his life to the final moments with more concern for others than himself. He was a true servant of the Lord. Please continue to pray for God's strength and comfort for this beautiful family in the months ahead.

There will be a public memorial to celebrate Will's life at 3:00 pm, March 11 at Brookstone Church in Weaverville, NC.

Will is enjoying a special trip with his family this week. Pray that the Lord will bless this trip with joy and many happy memories for the future.

From Will:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

It wasn't a joy ride at all to get to the top of the rock pictured here. To get there I walked with a special friend for many difficult hours, through deep valleys, high peaks, physical pain, and darkness. Once we reached our destination, if you would have asked us was it worth it the answer would've been, absolutely!

It's my hope today that you have that special friend to walk this journey called life with.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; Psalm 18:2

Sometimes when we think things couldn't get any better something better is just around the corner. Several months ago I asked one of my best friends in the world to learn a new song for me. A few weeks later (I wasn't exactly on cloud 9) he sent me a video of a song. I can't tell you the comfort it brought me in that moment! I said "beautiful song! Where did you learn it?" He says "you asked me to learn it". A song I had never heard before in my life.

As I face this battle I would love to tell you we are winning the physical battle against this enemy but that would be a lie. I say that waking up to today, to fight. But here's the kicker. Like this song states, I'm fighting a battle in a war that's already won!
