We are Volunteering in Sri Lanka!
One year ago, we both started our new careers with Embrace Pet Insurance. Little did we know, that it would also be the start of an amazing friendship.
In mid October, we will be traveling to Sri Lanka to help WECare Worldwide with their CNVR (catch, neuter, vaccinate, release) efforts in the south of the country.
In order to make this happen, we are going to be doing some serious fundraising. Anything we raise will go towards travel, room & board, and donations to help cover the expenses for WECare Worldwide to continue their CNVR efforts in southern Sri Lanka.
It is estimated that there are anywhere from 1-3 million street dogs in Sri Lanka, a country that is roughly the size of West Virginia. Not only does this make life difficult for all of them, but it has a significant impact on the human population as well. Rabies is still a very real threat in many developing nations, and Sri Lanka is no exception. The human and dog population also face difficulties due to limited resources on their small island. WECare Worldwide is working towards controlling the epidemic of overpopulation and rabies in Sri Lankan street dogs. On top of their CNVR program, they treat the already sick and injured animals plus teach the human population about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
Please consider donating to help us make this volunteer opportunity a reality. Every little bit helps. Thank you so much! Along the way, we will be taking turns posting updates about all the work we are doing.

It only costs $1400 to fund a full day of their spay/neuter and vaccine clinic. All we need is 140 people to commit to donating at least $10! Our hope is to ultimately fund multiple days.
These clinics play a key role in ending the epidemic of overpopulation and rabies. If WECare Worldwide can reach and maintain a 70% spayed/neutered and vaccinated rate in the dog population this will become a reality. That is all it takes to end the epidemic and greatly improve the lives of humans and animals in Sri Lanka.
We have a few exciting fundraisers coming up, so don't forget to check out our Facebook page, CLE 2 SRI, for updates and keep sharing the link to our GoFundMe.
As a reminder, all of the money we raise will go towards volunteer expenses and spay/neuter and vaccine clinics in Sri Lanka.
Thank you again for the continued support.
Some of the people who donate to this may be my friends/family, some may be Kendra's, and some may be people we haven't ever had the pleasure of meeting. No matter what, we are so excite to have you on this journey with us.
Hopefully you can get to know us both a little better along the way. To give you a little background, Kendra currently lives in Cleveland and, while I am from there, I currently live in Philadelphia. This means for the most part we have been in a long distance planning relationship. But, recently I was in Cleveland, and Kendra and I were working hard, organizing summer fundraising events in both Cleveland Philadelphia.
We have big things brewing, so stay tuned for more updates!
