Who is Victoria Jr?

Victoria Jr. is a graphic novel collection of short stories from Spokane local author/illustrator, Manny Trembley, about a bold, confident human girl adopted into a loving family of monsters. Victoria Jr. was named by The Monster, after his creator, Victor Frankenstein. Her stories range from fantastical bedtime stories, meeting and helping create her new brother and her parents wedding. The book Victoria Jr. was inspired by the children of the local organization called Sally's House.

Who is Sally's House?

Sally's House is a state-funded emergency receiving
facility for children 2 to 12 years of age who are removed from their home due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or criminal activity. Children are only brought to Sally's House by local law enforcement or Child Protective Services. Sally's House provides a caring, safe and loving home for up to 18 children at one time. These children can stay for up to 90 days (with the option for a court-ordered extension) while the Department of Children and Family Services has time to find a relative or appropriate foster placement. While at Sally's House, children receive clothing, toys and nutritious meals while enjoying a regular schedule of activities and field trips. Children are able to continue attending their school of origin or may choose to participate in the on-site preschool. Children also receive tutoring, reading assistance and life skills training during their stay.

Please consider contributing. All donations are welcome and deeply appreciated. We're excited and looking forward to the event: see you all soon!
