Leadership Glendale -The Zone After School Program
The Salvation Army Glendale Corps & Community Center established in 1921 and has serviced the Glendale community for over 100 years. The Glendale Corps programs consist of a food pantry, a Meals on Wheels program, a housing program for homeless mothers who have a mental health diagnosis and their children, a housing program for families with disabilities due to substance abuse and a free after school program.
The Zone After School Program is one of the many integral programs servicing the children of the Glendale community. The Zone program is free and provides a wide range of enrichment and recreational programming opportunities offered to children in 1st to 12th grade.
Their goal is to improve student’s academic skills, one-on-one mentoring to boost physical well-being and personal youth development, arts and sports recreation. Primary activities include assistance with homework, tutoring, indoor and outdoor sports, STEM classes, and various fun recreational, social and leisure activities.
With the support of Leadership Glendale and the community, the Zone After School program will be equipped with supplies to renovate their outside area to further engage and motivate their kids to be more physically active and integrate tactical education concepts.
The Salvation Army is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Please consider a tax-deductible donation in support of Leadership Glendale’s 2019 Class project.
Thank you for your consideration and support of youth in Glendale.
Sincerely,
Leadership Glendale, Class of 2019
