VFW Flag Pole Replacement

Donation protected
The week prior to Memorial Day, 2019, the local Boy Scouts placed nearly 175 flags around Lee's Summit's Historical Cemetary, each with the name of a local, memorialized veteran.

On Friday, 5/24, an EF0 Tornado came across Longview lake, and the winds continued east, toward the cemetary.  While the VFW members were able to remove and secure the flags,  EVERY ONE of the 175 flag ploles was snapped by the winds, resulting in the VFW Post's inability to have a memorial display for Memorial Day, on 5/27.

These flags are flown each Memorial Day (Friday, through Monday) to show respect and to honor our fallen comrades.

Please consider making a donation so these flag poles can be replaced, and the flags will fly again.
