Starving Children in Venezuela HELP

Donation protected

My name is Eleonora Beracasa Hoffmann, I understand I cannot solve all the problems in my country, but I believe that if we join forces amazing things can happen.

Venezuelan parents are giving up their children to survive as our country faces this humanitarian crisis due to lack of food. A true economic collapse, with shortages leading to widespread hunger and grave risks to the population’s health is happening today.

A baby boy was recently found abandoned inside a bag in capital Caracas and a malnourished one-year-old boy was found in a cardboard box in Ciudad Guayana in recent months. Cases of scabies and malnutrition increment daily and teachers are reporting and unprecedented decrease in school attendance due to this cause. Zulay Pular, a mother asked a neighbor to care for her 6-year-old daughter, she said buying one meal of chicken to feed her family would decimate half of her households monthly income. A starved 8-year-old girl repeatedly faints in school because she has nothing to eat but a banana in several days. An HIV-positive mother chooses breastfeeding her baby at the risk of spreading the virus, or not feeding her baby at all.

Kevin Lara Lugo, died on his 16th birthday. He spent the day before foraging for food in an empty lot, because there was nothing to eat at home. What he found made him gravely ill. Hours later, he was dead on a gurney. The hospital lacked the simplest supplies needed to save him on that day.

This story of this boy with no food, who had gone searching for wild roots and trash can left overs but ended up poisoning himself instead, is one of millions that are facing this same reality. It embodies everything that has gone wrong in Venezuela.

Venezuelan parents are finding it difficult, if not impossible, to feed their children.

These families and children need our help more than ever. Please help me raise money. This money will be directed to buy foods such as beans, potatoes, bread, formula/milk and peanut butter, known to be high calorie nutritious foods to help recover from malnutrition and starvation.

My donations will collaborate with orphanages such as Fundana , organizations such as Comparteporunavida that have distribution in mayor hospitals in Venezuela. Free meals for schools attended amongst the poorest. I promise to personally buy and dispense these life-changing foods.

No contribution is ever too small. Anything helps. YOU can make the difference between life and death.
