My name is Yvette, and I am reaching out for help after a terrifying experience involving my 8-year-old nonverbal son, Karter. Due to negligence at his CMS school, Karter was lost and put on the wrong bus. Even though a student tried to alert the driver, the warning was ignored, and Karter was let off at the wrong stop. He was found wandering in the street by another parent, and I can’t express how scared I was knowing he was missing and vulnerable. Because I no longer trust CMS with my son’s safety, I have made the difficult decision to pull him from school and begin homeschooling him. This change has been challenging, especially since Karter has gone from loving school and the bus to fearing them, and he has regressed due to the trauma. I am now seeking to relocate to a home that can better accommodate his sensory needs and provide a safe, nurturing environment. I also need help with items and equipment for his classroom, as well as necessities like food. Since I can’t work full time, I hope to start a home daycare for kids like Karter, so I can support other families facing similar challenges. Your support will help me obtain a lawyer to seek justice for Karter, secure a home that fits his needs, and create a safe space for him and other children.
