Hi, I'm Yolanda, and this year I graduated from my university with a degree in Biology. This was very exciting for me because, during my entire senior year, I was thinking about how immediately after graduating, I could either enter one last paid internship that might get me a good amount to put toward the new life I would be starting or land a great starter job to get back to working.
Now, with the way life is funny sometimes, it's months later, and unfortunately, not a single one of the 50+ jobs got back to me, nor did I manage to land an internship despite making it far in the process. The only type of work I have had access to so far is the baking business I hope to take off one day, but the process of starting a business with little to no starter funds is quite the challenge. I will continue to do what I can to make my baking lucrative but unfortunately I still owe rent every month so I cannot rely on this.
I decided that if I can't clock in hours, then at the very least I could go back to school and be the student I know how to be and earn a certificate in Surgical Technology to guarantee that I will be able to work again. Apart from that, I honestly am in the worst debt I have ever been in because during my senior year my mom was also having a hard time with our payment plan, so I just decided to use my credit card and didn't want to worry her about paying me back since we were both in it together.
All proceeds would go toward my current school tuition, the student loans that start in November, and the debt accrued this year. Prayers and encouragement truly do weigh just as much in my mind, so whatever you are able to contribute is not taken lightly, and I truly thank you.
