<div>When we arrived at Bright English Medium School (BEMS) in Loliondo, rural Tanzania, we were welcomed by children full of curiosity and warmth. Many of these children come from Maasai communities and nearby villages, carrying a rich cultural heritage and big dreams for their future. But behind their smiles lies the school’s biggest daily challenge, one most of us never think about: <strong>clean, reliable water.</strong>

<div>The current water system is unpredictable. Some days the pump works, some days it doesn’t. And even when it does, the water is not filtered or fully safe for consumption. Seeing this up close made the issue painfully real. We watched children share small amounts of water during the day, teachers doing their best with limited resources, and staff constantly troubleshooting the system. Something as basic as water became the barrier to learning, health, and dignity.

<div>For a school with 500 students and home to 300 children, safe and consistent water isn’t a luxury. It is the foundation for:

<div>1. Proper hygiene in the boarding facility.
</div>
<div>2. Safe, potable water for daily meals.
</div>
<div>3. Preparing and growing a nutritious vegetable garden on campus, improving food quality for all students, especially boarders who depend entirely on school meals.

<div>During our time volunteering at BEMS, we felt a clear responsibility to help build a complete, sustainable water system that the school can depend on every single day.

<div>Together with the school administration, we have outlined a plan that includes:

<div>• A dependable water-extraction system.
</div>
<div>• A reliable filtration and purification unit.
</div>
<div>• Safe storage tanks to ensure water is available even when the pump fails.
</div>
<div>• Training for staff to maintain and operate the system long-term.
</div>

<div>This is not a temporary patch. It is a lasting solution.

<div><strong>Transparency and Project Execution</strong>

<div>The project will begin once the required funds for borehole drilling are raised.
</div>

<div><strong>Phase 1: </strong>Borehole drilling (€7,500) and installation of the submersible pump with wiring (€1,400) to bring water to the surface, along with concrete protection (€500) and miscellaneous essentials (€500).

<div>We will closely supervise the work and ensure responsible use of every contribution.
</div>

<div><strong>PS:</strong> The remaining phases will be planned and executed based on the availability of funds. If the donations exceed the target, we will transparently share how the additional amount is used.

<div>Hallo und vielen Dank an alle Spender:innen! Nach langem hin und her war es uns nun möglich Euer Spendengeld an die LGBT Alliance Hungary zu spenden. Sie fördert in Ungarn sämtliche Projekte für die Akzeptanz, die Gemeinschaft und die progressive Entwicklung der queeren Community im ganzen Land. Durch Euer Engangement konnten wir mehr als ein Statement im Fernsehn erreichen. Wir waren in der Lage tatsächliche Projekte und Menschen, die in Ungarn nach Veränderung streben, zu unterstützen. Ich freue mich unglaublich, dass es so viele Menschen gibt, die unseren Spendenaufruf gesehen haben und sich Entschieden haben mit Uns etwas zu verändern. Denn nur wenn wir alle an einem Strang ziehen, können wir etwas verändern. Ich hoffe, dass jeder von uns sich weiterhin an der Veränderung beteiligt. <div>Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt können wir nicht mehr sagen, als dass der Flitzer wegen Hausfriedensbruch angeklagt wurde, wie schon viele Nachrichtenseiten geschrieben haben.

<div>Damit ist wohl eine Zahlung verbunden. Wie hoch diese genau ausfällt ist bis jetzt immer noch nicht genau klar. Auch ob es ein Gerichtsverfahren mit Anwaltskosten, oder andere Forderungen mit sich zieht ist zum derzeitigen Stand unbekannt.
