<div>My name is Yasser El Houbi. I am writing to you not just as a man who has lost his home, but as a terrified and exhausted father of four who carries the weight of an entire extended family. My oldest child is only 11 years old, and my youngest is a fragile 3-month-old baby who opened their eyes to a world of bombs, hunger, and tents. For two excruciating years, we have been trapped in an unending nightmare in Gaza.

<div>Our beautiful home was bombed and completely destroyed. Since then, we have been living in a makeshift tent. We have stared death in the face more times than I can count, fleeing from one dangerous area to another with nothing but the clothes on our backs. But the bombs are not the only thing killing us.

<div>The siege, closed borders, and severe lack of aid have brought an unimaginable famine upon us. Food is scarce, clean water is a luxury, and we are slowly starving. As a father, I give every single crumb I find to my children. Because of this, I have lost half of my body weight. The helpless look in my children's eyes when they cry from hunger is a torture I cannot describe.

<div>My daily struggle does not end with my children. I am also the sole caretaker for my elderly parents. Both of them suffer from chronic illnesses and require continuous, periodic medications and medical treatments. In the midst of this destruction, finding and affording these life-saving drugs on a regular basis has become an impossible daily battle. Watching their health deteriorate because I cannot secure their necessary treatments breaks my heart.

<div>Furthermore, I am doing everything I can to support my sisters and their children, many of whom are university students. Alhamdulillah, our entire family is known for academic excellence. Before this war, my children and my nieces and nephews were top students, and we dreamed of seeing them become doctors, engineers, and teachers who would build the world. Now, the war has completely destroyed their dreams. Their pens have been replaced by fear, and their classrooms by rubble.

<div>I have been stripped of my home, my security, and my ability to provide for the people who depend on me. I am reaching out to your humanity because I cannot do this alone. If you do not stand with me, these brilliant students will not be able to continue their educational journeys, and my elderly parents will be left without their vital medications.
