Hello, my name is Wolfgang DuBois and I’m 20 years old. I’ve never done anything like this or made one of these before, so I really have no idea what I’m doing but, for over the past year and a half I’ve been working my back off trying to be able to afford myself a car and today I just found out all of my work, and over $12,000 has been wasted and my current ride is to be sent for scrap. I’ve practically been living alone, save one family member who’s always working for about seven years now desperately trying to find and/or maintain employment but it’s practically impossible without a reliable means of transportation. My mother passed away in 2019 when I was living in northern Michigan fighting homelessness back then in a car accident, leaving our only ride completely useless. Since then I’ve managed to move down to Pennsylvania, where I’ve been trying to work and save up for another car ever since to try and make her proud in a way but I’ve fallen short continuously no matter what I do, with the way the world is nowadays, even rent and food leave me empty handed. My last car I had was a 2010 Dodge Challenger SE that I named “Abbot”, after Dimebag Darrel of Pantera, a way to honor her liking of heavy metal music. But after almost two years of work and $12,000 later, it has completely fallen apart on me and become a safety hazard due to blown gaskets, ruined interior and so on and I find myself completely stuck. I have no excess money to put towards a similar car, and if I do not have transport I will be unable to work, and therefore unable to pay rent and I’ll lose my apartment. This car genuinely was the only nice thing I have at all in my possession, and it was the only thing I had to show that I can put effort into honoring late people like my mother and now it’s gone. I’m always the kind of person that hates reaching out, but if the world actually gives out miracles I would gladly take any help I can get in either replacing this car, or trying to get into something as close to it as I can get. Help a young man get a good ride to an honest job so he can pay it forward.
