When i was 3 or 4 months pregnant i found out that my daughter was diagnosed with an encephalocele(brain on the outside of her head). The doctors said she would be stillborn, or only live a few hours after birth. My baby is here now and she is 1 month old! Pleases help raise funds for the Campbells (Jason 50, Kristen 50ish, Shuran 22 and Leela 13). Their home in a small community in Upper Wilson’s Creek outside Mullumbimby was devastated by a landslide during the recent February 2022 floods. The landslide tragically killed Leela’s godmother, carer and best friend, Heather. We are seeking to raise money so that the family can afford bond money to rent a new home and to buffer and support the family as they absorb these massive life-changing losses whilst living amongst and supporting a now traumatized wider community.

<div>Early on Monday 28th February 2022 around 4:30am, during the most terrifying hours of the unprecedented deluge that devastated the Northern Rivers, a landslide swept through a small community of close friends who have lived together in Upper Wilson's Creek for nearly 2 decades. When it was safe to venture out, Jason found that the area where Heather’s small blue cottage had once stood, had been buried underneath hundreds of tonnes of mud, rock and fallen trees - the landscape forever changed. For the next 3 days, the remaining members of the community huddled together in a small cottage on the property without power whilst waiting for the flood waters to subside and emergency services to reach them. Heather’s body was irretrievable. She rests in peace now under a massive fig tree that remained standing, which is also poetically the resting place for the ashes of her late husband.

<div>While the “spirit of Byron” is now hard to find on the streets of Byron Bay, it is found flourishing, often in glorious rebellion, in the small hill towns and communities that are dotted throughout the ranges outside Byron Bay.
</div>

<div>Up in the rainforest the people have built small communities that are centred around self sufficiency, close connection to nature and a generosity that comes from sharing resources in order to live a simple life. These communities have been decimated in the floods, and whilst the locals are working together with astounding resilience and will power to rebuild their roads and homes, they need help. The Campbells are in fear of returning to their home as it is also at risk, understandably, they do not feel able to return to the place where the reminder of such loss is directly outside their front door. Jason and Kristen are self employed, Jason a landscaper and masseuse and Kristen a yoga teacher. They serve their community yet have not been able to work through this time and are now picking up the pieces of their own lives, wellbeing and emotions. Jason is dealing with an acute stress reaction from being first on the scene after the landslide that buried his closest friend and it may take some time before he is ready to be in service to others. It is vital that they find a home and get some specific psychological counselling for the family so that their recovery is not hindered by ongoing trauma.

<div>Of greatest concern to all is the impact that losing Heather may have on Leela who is 13 years old. Heather was present at Leela’s birth, became her godmother, babysitter and best friend, who was present at every milestone of Leela’s life. During COVID lockdowns over the last 2 years, Leela remained content up in the hills away from her school and friends her age, she had Heather by her side. They were best friends despite the age difference of more than 50 years. Money raised will go directly to the Campbells and would assist the family in finding a stable home in this crushing housing crisis, support Leela through the journey of grief that she must make at such a young age, and will ensure that Leela can continue to live in and attend school in the only community she knows, Mullumbimby and surrounds.

Family in need of support after deadly landslide

<p>It is Fly writing this, as Cat having a melt down over money and having to make sure Chrissy (alter) isn’t messing things up and causing system panic again. So we have done research on the therapists offering psychotherapy / psychodynamic therapy (UKCP and or BACP Rev) with attachment based work, developmental trauma, disassociation trauma, supervision and seeing what concessions they offer since we cannot work. We have early medical trauma from age 2 - 8, neglect and then loss of our biological mother at age 13. A few others after this that we aren’t able to disclose here that happened later. Claire was with child mental health services from age 14 and we have been in paid and unpaid services all our life. But only after an overdose later February have we become self aware as a system. We really need stabilisation work and real help with emotional regulation.  This is Cat and Jack below.

<p>for those that don’t know us, we are a diagnosed system with DDNOS which is basically OSDD and we have suspected autism. We also have depression, anxiety, PTSD, body dysmorphia, self harm, suicidal ideation and attempts and hey just grab a mental health bingo card.. and you would get a full house.

<p>We are a system of 11 - Cat, Claire, Jack, Faust, Finn, Fly, Izzy, (baby), Bunny, Harper, Chrissy.  that we know of. Some alters can remain dormant for decades. We don’t sure of the baby’s name yet, so no photos yet... we make these on a app that allows us to get the closest representation to how we look in the inner as possible.

<p>the issue we have is that none of us have had any grounding work or help with trauma for the little ones ( Izzy and the other one) Due to the fact that you get terrible mental health help on NHS (particularly where we currently live) and they have neither the skills or resources to help. In fact they have placed us with a nurse practitioner instead of a psychotherapist for the past few months, cheaper we guess.

<p>The therapy that covers what we need is £60 an hour and we are looking at ideally 6 months.. which is around £1500 (gfm fees come off that) this will hopefully mean we can get to Brighton during this time and get referred by the NHS to pay the rest of therapy or at least be close to this being organised. We might not get help from the NHS as a doctor needs to refer you, but we can at least try. Below is a photo of Claire and her mum.

We have always worked.. since Cat (who was running the body at the time) left school, she talked her way into college using our art portfolio as we failed all our exams due to trauma and brake down. <p>we are also looking at getting things for the system .. for young ones mostly, era specific toys from the late 70s and early 80s... so any help tracking things like - the original plastic ET doll from the movie, bean bag hacky sacks, old fashioned toys basically.. Izzy shows zero interest in modern toys .. it has to be things that have attachment. Maybe a white nose toy for the baby with heartbeat.

Help pay for our DID psychotherapy for 6 months

On Tuesday 06-16-20 Damon had a severe allergic reaction and tragically couldn't be helped by the local ER doctors. He unexpectedly passed away and went home to be with the Lord. Damon leaves behind his wife Miriam and their three children ages 15, 10, and 6. Please consider giving to help support Miriam and the children as they make arrangements for Damon's funeral and spend time together grieving the loss of their husband and father. Jacinta Nampijinpa Price is a fierce and brave campaigner for the rights of Indigenous Women and Children. She is also fighting for a unified Australia, recognizing everyone who loves this great country regardless of heritage, ethnic background or gender. She has worked as a cross-cultural educator for 20 years and has served two terms as an elected member on Alice Springs Town Council. Jacinta is the Country Liberal Candidate for the seat of Lingiari in the next federal election. Lingiari is the second largest electorate in the country at 1.3 million square kilometres. It has a population of just over 114,500. It includes more than 1020 remote Aboriginal communities and outstations, more than 100 Aboriginal languages and dialects, over 200 pastoral leases, hundreds of mining projects and nine working mines, 23 national parks and 70 other reserves, the towns and regional centres of Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy, Jabiru, Borroloola, Adelaide River, Elliott, Ti Tree, Timber Creek, Pine Creek, Mataranka and Yulara and a dozen other hamlets. It also takes in the Christmas and Cocos Islands thousands of kilometres away in the Indian Ocean. Communities are 100’s of kilometres apart and most roads are unsealed. To meet, and listen to the people, Jacinta has to cover vast distances. The most efficient, and most expensive, way of getting around is by air.Why is she standing? 47% of the population of Lingiari is Indigenous, they own 45% of the land and 80% of the coastline. Jacinta herself is a traditional owner under the Land Rights Act, yet many of her people are amongst Australia’s poorest and most marginalised. They suffer the highest rates of otitis media - leading to life long hearing impairment, - trachoma - leading to blindness,- renal disease, stage two diabetes and rheumatic heart fever, all leading to early death. Family violence and alcohol abuse have also deeply affected her people, including her own family. They also have the highest levels of unemployment and lowest levels of educational achievement in the country. All of this Jacinta has witnessed first hand. The current member has represented Lingiari for more than 30 years. In that time almost everything has got worse. The electorate has thriving cattle, tourism and mining industries. Indigenous issues are everyone’s business in Lingiari, we all live together side by side. We all pay the costs. Jacinta sees no reason why Aboriginal Land rights and industry can’t work together to improve everybody’s lives. Many good people of different backgrounds work tirelessly to tackle the very tough problems in the electorate. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent trying to solve these problems to little effect. We need a reassessment of everything that has been tried. We need a unified approach. This Go Fund Me campaign is about helping Jacinta get elected to the national parliament to fight for the changes that are needed. The costs involved are huge so Jacinta needs as much help as she can get. Labor has put business in the NT up against the wall. Everybody is hurting. In Tribute to Candy Royalle

Prior to embarking on the journey she had dreamed of for a long time, Shelley sought the advice of a doctor regarding the necessary vaccinations for the areas she would be traveling to. She was advised against antimalarial medications due to it being dry season. <br />Upon returning from her trip, Shelley began to feel very unwell. She attended the GP, underwent a blood test and was diagnosed with the most severe strain Malaria. <br /><br />Shelley was rushed to hospital where she rapidly deteriorated to the point of being admitted to intensive care, progressing to multi organ failure, being commenced on life support and dialysis with no circulation to her extremities causing irreversible necrosis to her hands and feet. <br /><br />Shelley remained on life support for 5 days in an extremely unstable condition. She has since made a small improvement and has been taken off life support and breathing unsupported. She remains on daily dialysis and faces a very long recovery. Best case scenario she will require amputation of multiple digits. Worst case could involve much more. She will require several months of rehabilitation. <br /><br />We ask for your help to support Shelley with the expense of her medical costs and living expenses. The smallest donation will greatly appreciated in relieving Shelley’s current and future financial burden.

We are all so devastated from the loss of our beloved Geoffrey - We are feeling helpless and heartbroken. Geoff was an excellent surfer, diver and pilot. Most of all he was the happiest, most outgoing person we have ever known and he is missed by many. For those who did not know, Geoff was a Medevac Pilot for AMR Air in Hawaii. He has probably transported your family or someone you know if they needed to be taken to a HNL hospital. When there is a bad accident or something of that nature these are the guys who wake up in the middle of the night and rush to get the patient.
