Walter is our 9 yo Huskador and has been with our family since he was 5 weeks old. We adopted him from a pet adoption center in North Pole, Alaska and the story is: his litter was going to be euthanized because they were too small to be sold to a dog sledding team. Walter was the only puppy no-one wanted because of his size as he was the runt of the already small litter. I was so happy to have found him, and his size never mattered to me. He’s currently dealing with a serious skin condition that has caused extensive hair loss, painful-looking lesions, and a strong odor. We’re also seeing new patches develop across his body. Walter has a history of seizures that are currently managed with medication, so we’re being especially careful about what medications and treatments he receives. Unfortunately, we’ve reached a point where we need veterinary testing and treatment that we simply can’t afford on our own right now. We don’t have a confirmed diagnosis yet, and that’s exactly why we’re asking for help. We want to get him examined, have the appropriate skin testing done, get him on the right medication, and give him the best chance of getting comfortable and healthy again. We’re not asking people to take care of everything for us. We’re asking for a little help getting through something we weren’t financially prepared for. Any amount helps.
