<div>This illness is cruel. It slowly takes away memories, bearings, and words… Watching your own mother gradually slip away is a deep and constant pain. Even when words are lost, love remains.

<div>I live far from her and I do not have a car, which makes visiting her difficult, costly, and infrequent. Not being able to see her when I feel the need is a great source of sadness and helplessness. I wish I could be more present, spend time with her, reassure her, hold her hand—simply be there.

<div>The goal of this fundraiser is $20,000, in order to:

Ne pas pouvoir aller la voir quand j’en ressens le besoin est une source immense de tristesse et d’impuissance. J’aimerais pouvoir être plus présent(e), passer du temps auprès d’elle, la rassurer, lui tenir la main, simplement être là.
