My 10-year-old child is facing open-heart surgery within the next 60 days. As a parent, this has been one of the most overwhelming and emotional times of our lives. Our focus should be on preparing for surgery, recovery, and helping my child stay strong — but we are also struggling to keep a roof over our heads. Because of medical appointments, missed work, and the financial strain that comes with a serious medical condition, we have fallen behind on rent and are at risk of losing our home before my child undergoes surgery. I am doing everything I can to hold things together, but I cannot do this alone. The funds raised will help us cover back rent and housing stability, transportation to medical appointments, medical-related expenses, recovery needs after surgery, and basic living expenses while I care for my child.
