I have invasive ductal carcinoma in my right breast, and this week I’ll be getting my port put in to start chemotherapy. My markers came back triple negative, which means my treatment plan will be more aggressive. After chemotherapy, which could last up to 8 weeks, I’ll have surgery and then most likely radiation. I see my oncologist on Wednesday to go over our plan and next steps. The costs are overwhelming. My insurance has a 20% copay for specialists and hospital visits, and I don’t know what other expenses might come up. I’ll need gas to get back and forth for appointments and chemo since it’s out of town, and there will be more travel for surgery and radiation. On top of that, there are everyday bills that might arise while I focus on my health. I want to thank anyone who can help out, even with just prayers for myself and my family at this time. Any donation helps. The most important thing in my life is my children, grandchildren, my husband of 36 years, and my furbabies. We’re also raising our grandson, and have since he was 6. We lost our daughter, his mom, in May of 2023, and it’s been a difficult journey for all of us. Your support means the world to me as I fight through this next chapter.
